BladeHQ has an exclusive Columbia River Knife & Tool/Lucas Burnley Obake fixed blade knife for pre-order. The run will be limited to 500 pieces. This knife differs from the original with its satin-finished blade. The previous Obake had a gray and black TiNi “acid-etch.” My thought is that the new satin kwaiken gives the Obake a much different appearance and it is good.
The faux ray skin samé under the resin-impregnated cord wrapping is now orange, instead of black. CRKT did a great job for the first Obake’s synthetic ray skin, which was interesting in its gloss and matte contrast. Tough to tell from the BladeHQ photos, but I think the new one has a similar quality.
